Air Greenland departs directly from Aalborg Airport to Nuuk Airport (GOH). The flight is flown with a leased Boeing 737-800 from AirSeven, and takes approximately 5 hours and 40 minutes. The route operates twice a week (Monday and Thursday) during the period 16 June-1 September. We recommend being at the airport at least 2 hours before departure. Check-in opens 3 hours before departure and closes 60 minutes before.
Connecting in Nuuk (GOH)
In Nuuk, you change to the domestic flight that takes you onward to Ilulissat. Nuuk Airport is Air Greenland's main hub, and connections are arranged so you can usually avoid an overnight stay. Always check your specific connection time when booking, as schedules can vary by season and demand.
Leg 2: Nuuk (GOH) → Ilulissat (JAV)
The final leg is flown with a Dash-8-200 turboprop aircraft and takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes over approximately 600 km, with views of Greenland's west coast. There are usually several daily departures on this leg, year-round.
Arrival in Ilulissat (JAV)
Ilulissat Airport is a smaller regional airport close to the town and the famous Ilulissat Icefjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A new airport with a longer runway is under construction, but is not yet in operation on this route.
