From Nuuk Airport (GOH)
Domestic departures from Nuuk Airport are handled separately from international departures. We recommend arriving at the airport no later than 1 hour before departure. Check-in opens 2 hours before departure and closes 45 minutes before departure. If you are connecting from an international flight, such as from Copenhagen, your baggage is usually checked through to Qaqortoq.
Along Greenland's Southern Coast
The route is flown directly by Dash-8 turboprop aircraft, offering views of fjords and mountains along Greenland's west coast on the way to the greener and milder South Greenland. A light selection of snacks and drinks is served on board — there is no WiFi on domestic flights.
Arrival in Qaqortoq (JJU)
Qaqortoq Airport opened on 16 April 2026 and is now South Greenland's main airport, replacing Narsarsuaq Airport. The runway is 1,500 metres long and handles Dash-8 Q200 and Q400 aircraft. The town of Qaqortoq is known for its fjords, sheep farming and Norse historical sites dating back to the time of Erik the Red, and from here it is a short journey to destinations such as Tasermiut Fjord.
