Your journey from Qaqortoq to Aalborg

    From Qaqortoq Airport (JJU)

Qaqortoq Airport opened on 16 April 2026, giving South Greenland’s largest town a fixed-wing runway for the first time. Before the airport opened, travellers flew via Narsarsuaq and continued to Qaqortoq by helicopter or boat – that extra leg is now a thing of the past. We recommend being at the airport in good time before departure and checking your exact check-in window when you book.

    Connecting via Nuuk (GOH)

Your journey to Aalborg connects through Nuuk, Greenland’s main international gateway. From here, Air Greenland operates a seasonal direct link to Aalborg during the summer months, on select weekdays. Outside the summer season, travel between Greenland and Aalborg is usually routed via Copenhagen instead, so it’s worth checking connections closely when you travel outside peak season.

    Arriving in Aalborg (AAL)

Aalborg Airport is North Jutland’s main airport, with onward road and rail links across the region. Check the arrivals information in your booking confirmation for the latest gate and baggage details.

    When is it cheapest?

Because the Nuuk-Aalborg leg runs seasonally, fares and availability are tied closely to the summer schedule. For the best chance of a good price and a smooth connection, book as early as possible once the summer timetable is published, and stay flexible with your travel dates.

In the event of weather-related changes

Greenlandic weather, especially around the connection in Nuuk, can affect your journey. In the event of a weather cancellation, we rebook you free of charge to the next available departure and contact you automatically by SMS and email. We recommend a flexible fare type and generous connection times when travelling on this route.
