Your journey from Qaqortoq to Sisimiut

Leg 1: Qaqortoq (JJU) → Nuuk (GOH)

Air Greenland operates flights from Qaqortoq Airport to Nuuk Airport (GOH) with a Dash-8 Q200 or Q400 turboprop aircraft. The flight takes approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes. There are up to 2 daily departures year-round, increasing to up to 17 weekly departures during the summer season. We recommend arriving at the airport no later than 1 hour before departure. Check-in opens 2 hours before departure and closes 45 minutes before departure.

    Transfer in Nuuk (GOH)

In Nuuk, you will change aircraft for the domestic flight that takes you onwards to Sisimiut. Nuuk Airport is Air Greenland's main hub and the natural connection point between North and South Greenland, so connections are generally scheduled to avoid an overnight stay along the way. Always check your specific connection time when booking, as schedules may vary depending on the season and demand.

Leg 2: Nuuk (GOH) → Sisimiut (JHS)

The final leg is operated with a Dash-8 turboprop aircraft and takes approximately 55 minutes. It operates several times daily, year-round.

    Arrival in Sisimiut (JHS)

Sisimiut Airport (JHS) serves Greenland's second-largest town, known for its diving, hiking and sailing in summer, and skiing, dog sledding and snowmobiling in winter. The airport lies close to the town centre.

    When is it cheapest?

The lowest fares are typically available during the low season from October to March. During the peak season from June to August, when many travellers visit both North and South Greenland, demand on both legs increases noticeably, so we recommend booking well in advance.

    • Low season (Oct–Mar): from DKK 3,995
    • Peak season (Jun–Aug): from DKK 5,595

    In case of weather-related changes

Greenlandic weather can affect flights on both legs. In the event of a weather-related cancellation, we will rebook you free of charge on the next available departure, and you will be contacted automatically by SMS and email. We recommend choosing a flexible ticket type, as a delay on one leg may affect your connection in Nuuk.
